Does a Law Degree Help a Politician?
In comparing the experience of Sarah Palin, I think people tend to forget that Barack has a JD (Juris Doctor) in law and has taught constitutional law. It would be nice having a president that knows law.
Joe Biden double-majored in history and political science. He has his J.D.and passed the bar in Delaware.
John McCain seems to have some general BS from the Naval Academy.
Sarah Palin has a Bachelor of Science degree in communications-journalism and a minor in political science.
George W Bush has a bachelor’s in history and an MBA (master of business administration)
Dick Cheney earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in political science after flunking out of Yale.
Senator Richard Burr has a bachelor of arts degree.
Elizabeth Dole has a master’s degree in education and a J.D.
Assembly person Kay Hagan has a JD.
Governor Mike Easley has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a JD in law and his wife is a law professor.
Lieutenant Governor Berverly Perdue has a master’s degree in education and a doctoral degree in administration.
Mayor Pat McCrory has a B.A. in political science and education.
Obviously a degree in law or political science isn’t required to be a good politician. But after the last eight years I’d like an administration that’s at least aware of the constition.

If, Obviously a degree in law or political science isn’t required to be a good politician? Then what is required to be a good politician? Thanks

Great insights. Though I believe a degree isn’t necessary for any career, including politics, an MBA is definitely beneficial to understanding business concepts. An MBA could only help a politician, but hopefully they are at least aware of the constitution like you mentioned.
